Oral defence

My part in the oral defence will be helping my friend Alia doing the defence of the forms design. I will also do the defence for the flow of the pages in the website.

DONE!!

Yesterday we finished the project and we discussed every important thing. we checked that everything is workin properly and i hope we don't have any mistake. I copied the last version of the functional specifications into my friends laptops and we made sure that the things written in the functional specifications are applied in the project properly.

Final Touches

Im still doing the final touches in the functional specifications. Since some of the contents in the website were changed, i had to change them in the functional specifications. I also forgot to write the resources that helped us do the flow diagrams and the document in all. So i went to the internet to make sure that i wrote the references in the right way. I also made sure that the references are written correctly in the Report that we made at the beginning of the project about the types of databases.

New screens added to the website

WELL!!! I thought las week that the website was ready but i found out that we still have more screens that i didnt include in the functional specifications. I also had to repeat the screenshots for the pages since Alia changed the buttons in the forms. The buttons were all (Submit) so she had to change them to (Save); and so, i had to change the screenshots!!!! That took me a lot of extra time!!!!

Functional Specifications DONE!!!!!!!

Today i put the final lines in the finctional specification document. During the week I took the screen shots from the website and put them in the document with some explanation about them. During this process i founded some mistakes in the website and told Alia about them. Now we are very close to finish our project and i hope we did it the right way!!!

ERD and Data Dictionary Done

In the functional specifications document I finished drawing the ERD diagram. I did the ERD diagram using Visio and Access because i was not sure which one is better. I did'n find a software that helps in doing the relation between the table like (one-to-many) or (many-to-many). For the data dictionary I desiged a table in word and i filled it with information about the tables. Now Im waiting the screenshots of the web site so I can put them in the document and i can explain about each page and each form.

functional specification document

Im still working on the functional specification of the project. Im reading a lot of books to be able to figure out what way to make the diagrams and what are the important diagrams i should make. I borrowed some books from the library like database design and programming, database management systems.... Till now i made the flow duagrams for the website and im workin on the Entity relationship diagram. Im having a problem with th ERD in visio because i don't know hot to make the relations between the table. Since i still have a lot of things to do we decided that Maryam (the new member in the team) will help me with the specifications.
